The toughest club in the bag to hit well regularly is the driver. The reason for this is that the margin for error is much smaller so it becomes very important to develop solid swing mechanics that you can repeat consistently. Here are some things you should keep in mind in order to improve your driving ability.

Tip 1: Focus on accuracy first

Instead of trying to put all your muscle power and energy into every drive, focus first on hitting your drives straight. Remember that an accurate drive will almost always go farther than a crooked drive.

Hitting a golf ball well consistently will require that you learn and master the basic golf swing mechanics. A good swing tip to keep in mind is that your back swing should be slow and deliberate. Most amateurs seem to put more energy in their back swing than their downswing. Slow down your back swing and you should notice an immediate improvement in ball striking. Continue reading »

In golf, you don’t just think about the swing and the clubs. You have to think about the golf grip, too. So here are a few golf grip tips that you can use to enhance, if not perfect, your game.

Tip #1: Choose Your Grip

There are three kinds of grips in golf that you can choose from. These are the interlock, the 10 finger, and the overlap. If you are a beginner, try the overlap or interlock grip. They are simple to do while at the same time they give you control over the club and the ball flight. Aside from this, those grips also give you a good feel of the ball. A third reason why these grips are good for beginners is that they are easy to master and you can easily get used to using them.

Tip #2: Strong Grip or Weak Grip?

There are some people who say that a strong grip is good to have. This is because it gives you good control of the club as well as prevents you from ending up with a thrown club after a swing. Besides, it also encourages a hook or draw. There are also some people who prefer a weak grip since this also allows them to relax and swing the club freely while at the same time encourages the slide or fade.

Confused of which you should have? Don’t be. A good grip for you is the one that feels most natural to you. It should be a relaxed and comfortable feel to you. Always remember that a very good golf swing grip is the very foundation of your golf swing.

Tip #3: Get to know the V.s

This is the orthodox position. This is formed by properly positioning both your hands so that your thumb and forefinger will form a V. You can start doing this by positioning your hands in a way that they point between the chin and shoulders. Should you want to have a stronger grip, try moving your left hand over your right hand just a little. Continue reading »

If you have been on the quest to perfecting your golf swings, here are a few golf slice tips that you can use to improve your skill.

Tip #1: Presence of mind

Before you start making any golf swings, you need to set your mind on the game. Leave all of your worries and other non-golf thoughts behind. These will only distract you from the game. Remember that in any sports, you don’t just need to be there physically but mentally as well.

Tip #2: Know the Swing Description

When you take a good look at how the masters of golf play, what do you notice? You’ll see that their swings are easy and smooth. When you do your golf swings, put in mind that these should be smooth and natural. The reason for this is not to make it look easy to do but to make sure that it will be easy for you to do again and again. Remember that in golf, your performance greatly depends on your swings. The more awkward it feels to make the swings, the harder it becomes for you to hit the holes. Continue reading »
